Dog Adoption Procedure Viewing of the dogs will now be within the normal viewing times of the centre. 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4.30pm. Every day except we are closed on Mondays. Please come at least 30mins before closing to allow plenty of time. Dogs you are interested to meet and potentially adopt will be brought to you one at at a time by a member of staff in our new meet and greet paddock, situated between the reception and the kennels. Public will NOT be permitted to walk around the kennels as this distresses the dogs too much. If you would like to see what our kennels look like please click this link to the Brent Knoll Animal Centre. If you see a dog on the website that you are very interested in, please call us at Brent Knoll. We can register your name against that dog as an INITIAL INTEREST which means you have 'first refusal'. The initial interest can only be held on that dog until 4pm on the next day. Everyone living in your household including any existing dogs MUST meet your potential new dog. This can usually be done over a couple of trips if there are several people in the house (We try to accommodate where possible, due to children being at school etc). We usually cannot hold dogs on interest for more than 2-3 days as we don't want to miss any good homes. Adoption fees for Dogs: £125.00 Adoption fees for Puppies: £185.00 (includes a course of puppy classes) This adoption fee includes Micro-chipping & Neutering or Spaying. *DOGS OF THE MONTH*
Buddy, Lucky & Poppy These three 'bull breed' dogs are ALL dogs of the month for June! They are all so fabulous, we couldn't decide which one to pick! All 3 are fantastic characters with gorgeous personalities, but sadly seem to have been overlooked by adopters. They have all been here for quite a while now so really do need loving forever homes. Any of them would make a super addition to a committed family. Please read their profiles below and if you like what you see we would love to hear from you! |

Buddy
Ref WD5334Staffie, 5 years old, Neutered Male Buddy is a lovely chunky boy that came into our care via one of our Inspectors when his owner was no longer able to meet his needs. He is generally well behaved (he passed all of his routine temperament and dog:dog tests without concern) but he is in serious need of learning some manners! He has been allowed a fairly free rein therefore can be excitable / mouthy as no-one has taught him otherwise. Because of this he needs a Staffie- experienced home that can guide him. Apart from this he is great with other dogs and can happily be left alone for a time. This handsome chap has been here for a while now which is a shame as he will make a fabulous companion in the right home. If you feel you can give Buddy the love and stability he has missed out on up to now, please get in touch. Cats - NO! Will chase Dogs - Yes Children - Secondary school and older, if robust!

Lucky
Ref WD5383 Staffie, Approx 15 months old, Male Neutered Lucky came into our centre after spending some time in kennels having been picked up as a stray, after this time he was transferred to the RSPCA. Lucky therefore, has no history. He is a handsome chap who has a zest for life, so if you have owned a Staffie or similar breed in the past, he may just be what you are looking for. Cats - No Dogs - Yes Children - Adult home only |

![]() Poppy
Ref WD5469English Bull Terrier cross, 2 yrs old, Neutered Female
Poppy came to us from our colleagues in Bristol after spending some
time with them and not managing to find that special new home. She
is beautiful to look at and will make a fine addition to the right
home. She has been in kennels for a little while now so will require
an understanding home with time for training. Previous experience of
bull breed ownership will be beneficial as she is typical of her
type and lives life at 100mph!

Malamute, 2 years old, Neutered Female Lovely girl Tessa came into our care when sadly her owner could no longer look after her. She has a beautiful personality and has quickly become a firm favourite with the staff. She would thrive in a
home that has owned this breed before, this is a requirement for
taking on this sweet girl. If you would
like to know more about Tessa or would
like to meet her, please
call Brent Knoll Animal Centre for
Cats - No Dogs - Yes - she is very sociable Children - No, adult home only

When Dray was taken from his previous home by an RSPCA Inspector, he
had been suffering from a skin condition for over 2 years. See the
photo on the right. Within
five weeks he was unrecognisable and generally feeling much better.
Dray is a fantastic dog looking for a special home. He will need
time and patience to help him overcome some

Midge Ref WD5596 Jack Russell Terrier, Neutered Female Midge came into our care via an RSPCA Inspector due to concerns regarding welfare as it was a multi -species household. She is a very affectionate lady with much love to give to a new owner. She would thrive in a home that had previously owned terriers before, we have no real history on her due to her being in the multi-species home. If you would like to know more about this lovely
girl, please call Brent Knoll Animal Centre for more information.
Cats - No Dogs - Has lived with previously Children - Secondary School + I HAVE CONFIRMED INTEREST IN ME!

Staffie cross, 1 year old approx, Neutered Male Howie was found as a stray and taken in by the local authority. After spending time in their care and not managing to find a new forever home he was transferred into RSPCA care. With no history we have gotten to know him via our assessment process and this handsome young chap is now ready to find his new family. He will bring laughter and fun to a household that has owned a similar breed previously. Cats - No Dogs - Yes Children - Secondary school age |
||
|
Roxy Ref WD5627 Collie X, 2 years old, Neutered Female Roxy came to us as a stray from the local authority and therefore, has no history with her. She has passed her assessments and is now ready to find her forever home. Roxy has displayed nervous behaviour in certain
situations and staff are working with her to help her overcome this,
her new owners would need to continue improving her confidence
possibly with professional help. Roxy would benefit from being in an
active home and may also enjoy a canine sport such as agility. Cats - No Dogs - No, not to live with Children - Secondary School +

||
|
Indie Ref WD5623
Indie is another stray taken in by the local authorities, as with many of our residents she has spent time in stray kennels without finding a special new home. She has moved to RSPCA care to continue that search. Indie can be a little shy when meeting new people but once she knows you she is very friendly and loving. She plays well with other dogs especially other staffs; she loves a bit of rough and tumble!! Cats - No Dogs - Yes Children - Adult home |

DOG WALKING We need dog walkers to walk the dogs at Brent Knoll. Dog walking is 6 days a week - (everyday EXCEPT Mondays as we are closed). Once enrolled, dog walkers are asked to arrive 9.30am onwards and to have all dogs back by 11.30am. A lot of our dogs are very big, boisterous and strong so we are especially looking for some dog walkers that are physically able to walk these types of dogs. All new volunteer walkers are recruited on a monthly basis and a health and safety induction will be carried out.
PLEASE if you have a spare morning and would like to help, then call us on 01278 782671 to book your induction.
Thank you |
Neutering Where possible we neuter all the dogs. If the dog you select has not been neutered at the time of the adoption you will receive a Voucher. Micro-chipping We microchip all of our dogs when they come in to our care. Once adopted they then get registered to the new owner. Arden Grange Food We feed all of our dogs on the complete dry food 'Arden Grange'. This can be purchased from us at the time of adoption and onwards and from various local retailers. Purchasing this food from us WILL help us to feed the dogs left behind in the kennels for a month. *Full details of all this will be explained to you during the adoption* |
