Dog Adoption Procedure

Viewing of the dogs will now be within the normal viewing times of the centre. 11am - 1pm and 2pm - 4.30pm. Every day except we are closed on Mondays.

Please come at least 30mins before closing to allow plenty of time.

Dogs you are interested to meet and potentially adopt will be brought to you one at at a time by a member of staff in our new meet and greet paddock, situated between the reception and the kennels.

Public will NOT be permitted to walk around the kennels as this distresses the dogs too much. If you would like to see what our kennels look like please click this link to the Brent Knoll Animal Centre.

If you see a dog on the website that you are very interested in, please call us at Brent Knoll. We can hold that dog on a TEMPORARY RESERVE which means you have 'first refusal'. The temporary reserve can only be held on that dog until 4pm on the next day. Everyone living in your household including any existing dogs MUST meet your potential new dog. This can usually be done over a couple of trips if there are several people in the house (We try to accommodate where possible, due to children being at school etc). We usually cannot hold dogs on reserves for more than 2-3 days as we don't want to miss any good homes.

Adoption fees for Dogs: £125.00

This adoption fee includes Microchipping & Neutering or Spaying.

Jack Russell, 12 years+, Neutered Male.

Henry came to us as a stray.

Henry is a very young at heart O.A.P!! He would love a quite retirement home.

He would be PERFECT for an active retired person/couple.

Henry is Housetrained and Travels well in the car though does get a little excited and barks!

Daisy & Judy

Daisy (Right Photo) - Jack Russell X, 15 month old, Spayed Female.

Judy (Left Photo) - Jack Russell, 7 month old, Spayed Female.

Daisy & Judy came into our care through no fault of their own, their owners were sadly unable to keep them.

They are both extremely cute and very friendly. They adore one another and LOVE to run around and play!!

They are Housetrained.

Cats - Unknown

Dogs - Yes but not to live with, they would like a home where its just the two of them as Daisy is a bit bossy.

Children possibly 7 years+ if calm/quiet

DOG WALKING

We need dog walkers to walk the dogs at Brent Knoll.

Dog walking is 6 days a week - (everyday EXCEPT Mondays as we are closed).

Once enrolled, dog walkers are asked to arrive 9.30am onwards and to have all dogs back by 11.30am.

A lot of our dogs are very big, boisterous and strong so we are especially looking for some dog walkers that are physically able to walk these types of dogs.

All new volunteer walkers are recruited on a monthly basis and a health and safety induction will be carried out.

Dillon Ref WD4449

Lurcher, 6 month old, Male.

Dillon came to us as a stray.

As a stray, little is known about Dillon. He is only a baby still so he is very playful and VERY full of energy, he will benefit from attending training classes.

He is looking for a loving and active family that will take him to lots of new interesting places and on LOTS of walks!

Cats - Unknown, though likely not good being a Lurcher!!

Dogs - Yes

Murphy Ref WD4450

Labrador X, 4 year old, Male.

Sadly Murphy's owners were unable to keep him

Murphy is a very loving and will make a fantastic addition to an active family.

Murphy is Housetrained and Travels well in the car.

No Cats - he will chase.

Dogs - Yes, though he does get a bit frisky with them! New owners may need to address this behaviour with socialisation classes should the problem not calm down after neutering.

Neutering

Where possible we neuter all the dogs. If the dog you select has not been neutered at the time of the adoption you will receive a Voucher.

Micro-chipping

We microchip all of our dogs when they come in to our care. Once adopted they then get registered to the new owner.

Arden Grange Food

We feed all of our dogs on the complete dry food 'Arden Grange'. This can be purchased from us at the time of adoption and onwards and from various local retailers. Purchasing this food from us WILL help us to feed the dogs left behind in the kennels for a month.

Maggie Ref WD4448

Staffie X, 10 years old approx, Female.

Maggie came to us as a stray.

Maggie is a really really sweet girl, and has become quite a favourite amongst the staff due to her age and gorgeous nature.

She may be 10 years old but there's still plenty of life in the old dog yet! The photo says it all really - she just loves running around and playing in our paddock area!

She will make a brilliant addition to either a family or maybe an active retired person/couple.

Both Jack Russell's, Neutered Males.

Ozzy (Left Photo) - 5 years old.

Zak (Right Photo) - 4 years old.

These handsome boys came to us after their owner was unable to keep them. They are both friendly, happy dogs. Ozzy is a typical terrier - very busy and full of self importance!!

They are housetrained and travel well in the car.

Cats - Seem to be ok!

18 month old, Neutered Male.

Marley came to us as a stray.

Marley has a fantastic friendly and confident nature. He looks very cuddly like a teddy bear with such an adorable face!

From what we know Marley has had about 5 homes in his short life so his next home MUST be his forever home. He is still only a youngster so he needs a family with a commitment to training
