RSPCA Dogs for Re-homing

IF YOUR DOG IS MISSING, OR YOU HAVE FOUND A STRAY DOG PLEASE TELEPHONE THE RSPCA BRENT KNOLL CENTRE AND REPORT IT. WE MAY BE ABLE TO HELP RE-UNITE DOG AND OWNER OR GIVE FURTHER ADVICE.

DOGS NOW AT BRENT KNOLL ANIMAL CENTRE!!!

The dogs have now arrived in the NEW kennels at Brent Knoll.

Viewing of the dogs will now be within the normal viewing times of the centre. 11am - 1pm and 1.30pm - 4pm. Every day except we are closed on Mondays. Please come at least 30mins before closing to allow plenty of time.

Dogs you are interested to meet and potentially adopt will be brought to you one at at a time by a member of staff in our new meet and greet paddock, situated between the reception and the kennels.

Public will NOT be permitted to walk around the kennels as this distresses the dogs too much. If you would like to see what our kennels look like please click this link to the Brent Knoll Animal Centre Page.

If you see a dog on the website that you are very interested in, please call us at Brent Knoll. We can hold that dog on a TEMPORARY RESERVE which means you have 'first refusal'. The temporary reserve can only be held on that dog until 4pm on the next day. Everyone living in your household including any existing dogs MUST meet your potential new dog. This can usually be done over a couple of trips if there are several people in the house (We try to accommodate where possible, due to children being at school etc). We usually cannot hold dogs on reserves for more than 2-3 days as we don't want to miss any good homes.

Adoption fees for Dogs: £125.00

This adoption fee includes Microchipping & Neutering or Spaying.

Jake Ref WD3314

Staffie X Mastiff, 4 yr 9 mth old, Neutered Male.

Jake is a lovely big strong boy, he is a brilliant all - rounder!

He is a typical bull breed type- strong and full of energy and loves to play, so experience of large bull breeds would be ideal.

Jake is housetrained, travels well and has had some basic training. He will make a great addition to a family.

Cats - Unknown

Dogs - Yes

Children 3 year + (though would need to be used to dogs that can easily knock them over with their tail)!!

Lucy Ref WD1914

4 year old, Spayed Female.

Lucy is a lovely people dog - she is a pleasure to care for and will be a fantastic addition to a family.

Lucy is housetrained and travels well.

No Cats

No Dogs - Lucy does NOT like to be around other dogs. She will tolerate them around her but if they approach her, she WILL tell them off without hesitation. Lucy will need to be walked on a lead whenever there is a possibility she may meet another dog. Her new owners must be committed to living with Lucy and her problems!

WALKING

We need dog walkers to walk the dogs that have now moved to Brent Knoll.

Dog walking days have NOW CHANGED from 2 days a week to 6 days (everyday except NOT on a Monday)

Once enrolled, dog walkers are asked to arrive 9.30am onwards and to have all dogs back by 11.30am.

A lot of our dogs are very big, boisterous and strong so we are especially looking for some dog walkers that are able physically able to walk these types of dogs.

PLEASE if you have a spare morning and would like to help then us call on 01278 782671.

Thankyou

Patch Ref WD4125

Jack Russell, 8 year old, Female.

Sadly Patch's owner passed away. So is now with us and looking for a nice quiet retirement home! She is so cute, but a bit chubby, her new owners will  have to be committed to keeping her trim!

Patch is housetrained and travels well.

No Cats

No Dogs - Patch does NOT like to be around other dogs. She will tolerate them around her but if they approach her, she WILL tell them off without hesitation. Jess Ref WD4135

Staffie, 3 year old, Spayed Female.

Jess came to us as a stray.

As a stray, little is known about Jess. Though from what we have seen of her so far she is a lovely friendly girl with lots of energy. She is a typical bouncy staffie and would suit someone used to the breed.

Children - Teenage

Lexi Ref WD4101

Staffie, 1 year old, Female.

Lexi is an adorable, cuddly girl that is looking for a home that can give the love and commitment she needs.

As Lexi is only young she will benefit from attending training classes, this will be compulsory as part of her adoption, we can help towards finding a close by and suitable class to attend. She will also need socialisation with the outside world as her first few months of life were quite sheltered.

Children 7 years+

Cyril Ref WD3993

Shar Pei X, 1 year old approx, Male.

Cyril came to us as a stray.

Cyril is a lovely lad but at the moment, nervous of strangers. Once he gets to know you he likes a fuss.

Experienced home ONLY - more about Cyril can be discussed on enquiry.

Travel - At the moment he is quite scared of actually getting in a car, but once he's in he is fine. He will need lots of positive encouragement to help him overcome this.

Children - Not to live with.

Barney Ref WD4134

Rottweiller, 3 year old, Neutered Male.

Barney came to us after the sudden loss of his owner.

Large breed experience would be ideal as Barney is a big, strong boy!!

Molly Ref WD1712

Terrier, 8 year old, Spayed Female.

Molly came to us after being a little bit too active for her previous owner. Molly developed some separation anxiety which caused her to become destructive. Her new owners will need to be committed to help Molly overcome this. We are confident that with some training and an active home Molly will develop into a lovely little family dog.

Molly is housetrained.

Cats - Yes

No Dogs - Molly does NOT like to be around other dogs. She will tolerate them around her but if they approach her she will ignore them and won't want to play! Molly will need to be walked on a lead where other dogs are being exercised. Her new owners must be committed to living with Molly and her problems!

Children Teenage+ Molly would like a quiet home!

Widget Ref WD3974

Yorkshire Terrier (he is very small) , 3 year old, Neutered Male.

Due Widgets previous owners ill health, Widget had to come into our care.

Widget may be small but he is a big character! He is friendly and loves to play.

As he is small, he could easily be stepped on, so he cannot live in a busy home.

Widget is NOT housetrained. His new owners will need to address this.

He travels well.

Dogs - Widget MUST live with a small female dog that loves to play!

Cats - Unknown

Children 10 years + Maximum of 2 children in household.

Stella Ref WD3942

Neutering

Where possible we neuter all of the dogs. If the dog you select has not been neutered at the time of the adoption you will receive a Voucher.

Full details of the voucher will be explained to you during the adoption.

Microchipping

We microchip all of our dogs when they come in to our care. Once adopted they then get registered to the new owner.

Full details of this will be explained during the adoption.

Misty Ref WD897

Labrador X Staffie, 9 year old, Spayed Female.

Gorgeous Misty is such a cuddly, friendly girl. Though you can see from the photo, she is quite chubby so new owner's must keep her on a diet until she is a good healthy weight.

This is Misty's 3rd time in our care, sadly the reasons for her coming to us were not her fault at all, just unfortunate circumstances of her owners.

Misty is housetrained and travels well.

She is a brilliant all - rounder that will suit most homes!

Spike Ref WD4015

# NOT AVAILABLE #

Jack Russell, 1 year old, Neutered Male.

Spikes owners were unable to keep him.

He is just the most adorable, photogenic little dog ever!

Spike is looking for a committed home without children. This is due to some minor resource guarding issues. This means he becomes very protective over high value (his favourite) toys and treats, meaning he does not want to let anyone touch them because they are his. If he is not trained out of this problem then there is a risk it can worsen and he becomes aggressive with it.

As you can see he is a very happy chap. He just needs steering in the right direction with the resource guarding. We strongly advise new owners seek behavioural advice to sort the problem out.

No Cats

Dogs - Yes, can only live with a female dog.

No Children
