What is the ARC APPEAL for?

The North Somerset Branch of the RSPCA was formed many years ago and has always taken in unwanted animals for re homing.

Up to 15 years ago, the branch ran a small animal home at 172 Locking Road and over the years re homed many animals of all kinds. however, we were in a residential area and the dogs could be very noisy. Eventually we had to stop keeping animals on site and since then we have used commercial kennels.

We have always had a dream that perhaps one day we could have are own Animal Home again. This dream is now becoming TRUE. January 2006 saw the first cattery block built, which opened in May 06. We are now currently underway of building kennels.

Charlotte's Stable

(July 2009)

July this year has seen the build and completion of a stable in memory of Charlotte Halmkin.

The stable will be used for the emergency housing of sick/injured/neglected horses, ponies or donkeys before they can be moved on to a specialist equine centre.

It can also be used to house livestock or even poultry!

The stable is located in our paddock next to the cattery.

LATEST NEWS! - KENNEL BUILD STARTS

(April 2009)

Finally, dreams are coming true for the North Somerset Branch. After years of ideas, planning and lots of meetings, building will commence on the 14th April!

It's going to be a busy summer this year as all the preparations and planning will all be put into action.

The build work is expected to be finished at Christmas, so we have all got our fingers crossed that the kennels will be up and running in early 2010.

THE COUNT DOWN IS ON............2010

Below are some photos of the land before any build works start. Soon all this space will be a hub of activity!

The land with the view of The Knoll, this photo was taken from in front of the cattery. On the left of the photo you will see a small old building left behind from the previous kennels, this will be knocked down.

The land with the cattery in the distance. This photo was taken from the west fence (the fence in front of The Knoll!) Andy is in the photo - very exited about the kennels coming!

The land with the reception building in the distance. This photo was taken from the top perimeter fence. The Knoll is on the right, cattery on the left.

A HUGE THANKYOU to all of the Branch officers and staff for all their hard work to make the kennel dream become a reality and a MASSIVE THANKYOU to everyone out there that has donated to us, it is your donations which make it possible for us to plan the future of the Brent Knoll Animal Centre.

RSPCA BRENT KNOLL ANIMAL CENTRE

(March 2007)

Having been open for nearly a year now we are pleased to say all is going well at the new centre. In 2006 we rehomed nearly 300 cats/kittens. We also rehomed many dogs and various small animals.

We are however still endlessly fund raising for us to get the kennels built. We really appreciate the support from all those who have donated money, food and bedding and of course to those who have adopted an animal from us. Long may it continue!!

New Brent Knoll Cattery Finished

(January, 2006)

After years of negotiations, meetings and sleepless nights the first part of the New Brent Knoll Animal Rescue Centre is nearing completion.

The new Cattery will be ready for occupation shortly.

Needless to say we have a long way to go and we are continually looking for new funding to complete this huge project as quickly as possible.

Any donations no matter how small will help us to complete our dream and give North Somerset the Animal Rescue Centre it deserves.
